Awesome entrance

for some time i've thought about coming back to my blog...and well look at me, now i have. and oooh do i have awesome timing. i get to come back with nifty pictures of an all too common bi-product of me. it's an injury! and one i haven't had before...yay for new!

i'm sure the pictures explain enough...but for you squeemish people, i fractured my toe. i stubbed my toe on one of mums 10lb weights. it only hurts when i move it...or walk. it will take 4 weeks to heal and if i bump it again, i will most likely end up snapping the bone in half and in the cool fashion that makes it poke out your skin. doc's words...not mine.

all the piggies

all of the piggies together happily, the swelling is a bit less now.

right side

the deep purple bruise is right where i fractured it.

bottom toe

it wraps around the right side of my toe, then just stops.

left side

that's where i hit the weight.

hope everyone else is doing good...and who knows maybe i'll throw some pictures up once i'm not in pain.

toodles!

Update

Time flies when stress abounds. The little miss is growing and percocious as ever. Has a constant fight to keep her sniffles away, but such is the life of a munch I'm sure. She's enjoying school and loving learning. I'm wishing her school was more advanced now, since she is wanting to learn much faster then they teach. And I feel stumped on how to teach her myself.

Chris is busy with work. In March (at least the last time I asked) he is going to be on overtime the whole month. Having only 1 day off a week. And working on day shift the two overtime days. I just sort of stared as he explained it all. I'm ging to be looking forward to April. He is working hard to get a promotion this year..I'm hoping he gets it. We are in desperate need of moving out, and the extra monthly will allow us the required jump in rent.

I'm. Well, falling apart lol. It seems that something is always wrong with me lately, I don't know what's up. It stared about 2 weeks ago. Odd pains in my right leg and arm. Muscle cramps, numbness. I figured my body was just "being silly" as it always is. But then I fell down my stairs, twice in 3 days because my leg and arm gave out while walking. Then I awoke from a nap with my right leg completely numb for almost an hour I was unable to walk. Now I've got the constant odd pains, numbness and a bucket of other things going on. I'm awaiting blood and MRI tests for MS, a possible thyroid problem and/or whatever anyone elses best guess could be. For now I'm rocking one of Mum's canes and trying Vallium and some of Mum's muscle relaxiants until my doc can come up with something better.

Beyond that, I've sold my camera. Well as of Wednesday it is sold. The D300 is aimed at being the replacement, of course now with my body crapping out. I'm kind of on the fence until I know what's up with me. It's hard enough to do pictures with one bum leg and arm...sets of each are just gonna be more fun then I care to undertake.

Hope you are all awesome, and sorry about the break in posting.

Teh little miss

Pria gets "camera time" every so often. She's getting a bit better with not needing any supervision and just roaming and snapping happily until I decide to give the shutter a rest.

These are the latest she's done

flowies

I try not to constrain her, lately her favorite thing is to take pictures with the camera upside down. Or up close with the flash on...we still need to discuss eye damage from that one. She's got some good ideas, just needs a bit for patience....

last pictures

I haven't posted in a while, these are some of the last pictures I've taken.

Aunt Lanny had me come up and do some family picture beore Am left on her mission. I'm still editing them, but they are fine for blog viewing.

2

It's not a bad number, but it's just haunted me lately.

2 surgeries in one year
2 new scars to remind me that I'm not that young anymore
2 years shy of 30
2 lbs, the max my left arm can lift without pain

But now, I'm gonna make the number 2 my friend.

2 miles to walk a day with my new nike+nano
2 miles i want to be able to run without pain in my leg by Feb 15th (one year anniversary of my surgery)
20 lbs i want to be able to lift with my left arm by July 7th (2 year anniversary of seperating my shoulder)

It's not a New Years Resolution, cause I never really liked those... It's a "I'm just gonna do it" thing. So thanks to Patrick for his posts on the Nike+ it made me go and get it. I can't beat you, but I'm working on it.

A warning to the moron

Okay, for all the people that know me know one thing. I don't like people. I just in general don't get them and in turn they don't get me. For the most part, I don't care what people do. Confusing or not, their choice. But oh my gosh when it effects me directly, I get to have an opinion. More so, when it messes with my life...you best never come around me again. I get mean and vengeful.

So to the little ass who broke into my car and ganked my stuff... you best pray I never find out who you are. I liked my GPS and my tripod, a lot. And also, you better have used my overnight kit cause stealing and then just throwing it away is really messed up.

I hope those fingerprints turn out to be yours and they catch you...cause you won't like it if I catch you first.

Blame the turkey

Been away for a bit...crazy month.

A quick recap, I turned 28 and didn't implode...well not totally.

Had Thanksgiving with the Nagel side, made yams and didn't burn them. Hooray.

Had a wedding the next day. Rosanne and Chris got hitched and took off to Vegas for a few quiet days.

So now there is my Chris, her Chris and my sister Christy...oy.

Will try and get back into pictures and updates and whatever else I have left to do by this weekend.

MST

We went to the mountain for a fun day trip. We were stir crazy and just needed to be away. Besides the longer then remembered drive, the trip was good. The mountain had a lot less snow then expected (now it's covered, we went on the wrong day)

On the way

But you couldn't have asked for a nicer day. Well you could have, but like you'd get it. It was nice and sunny most of the time, some wicked clouds hung around the top, but never blocking out the sun at the lodge.

Nap time 1

While I was busy trying to take a panoramic shot (still needs work) Chris discovered that the rocks made a warm bed for him.

Nap time 2

Of course, little miss copycat, has to do whatever daddy does. I wished she would have picked a rock a bit further out of the dirt...

Hold tight

Nothing's better then having a monkey in the family, and there were very cool trees to climb up there.

In shadow

Last shot of the day, mix of cool clouds and bare tress...just sort of ended it all nicely.

Duplicate meow

Liz posted clouds and it stuck in my head. As I went to my bowling tournament I took my cameras with just guessing good clouds were out. Stormy weather, getting close to sunset...luck was with me.

Clouds 1

I thought they were pretty cool. Just took a few snapshots while I waited for someone to show up that I knew.

CLouds 2

So thanks to Liz for giving me an idea for a few new pictures today, besides my bowling ones.

And thanks to Mother Nature, got to love ya...and Bond, you go well with anything.

Farewell for now

I had a miscarriage.

Tomorrow I have a DNC.

Beyond that...I don't know.

I'm sorry, but I can't blog right now.

I just don't have the will to try to do much of anything.

I just want to lay in bed and...just be somewhere else.

If I have your email and can contact you that way, I will. For now no more posts or pictures here or Bring Me A Small Liar

Happy Birthday Munchers

Well it's that time of year again. Summer is beginning to wind down and the little miss turns another year older. She happily rang in the big number 4 over two days of festivities.

Friday was her official birthday and was spend with mum and dad. We went to breakfast at her favorite place, Black Bear Restaurant. Then off to the mall to play and pick up the newest WWF animal from Build-A-Bear. It's a Cheetah and his name is Tisi(t-see). He joins the growing family of named animals she has. There's Tundra the Polar Bear, Aiery(Air-ee)the Giraffe, Tilly the Cow, Pounce the Snow Leopard and Eli the Platypus

She got a new outfit from The Gap (holy gracious is anything cheap?!?) and then came home for a nap. Birthday's take a good bit out of you and there's a limit to how much Chris and I will accept, even on her "special day"

Saturday was spent getting everything ready for her party that afternoon. The house was cleaned thanks in most part to Chris and leaving only decorating to be done with Nana and Papa's help.

We barbqued and had the Nagel clan, Nana & Papa and our neighbor's the Malcom's over. Nice weather kept everyone outside for the most part. I let Papa play photographer for the party and I relaxed on the steps for most of it. Pria opened her presents and we got the kids their goodie bags shortly after she finished to quell any angst about not getting anything.

Then Nana took Jordan inside and filled up his squirt gun, after tagging Kai and Pria much to their initial dismay they quickly figured out they to had squirt guns and requested water. I was raised to be a good host and happily filled their guns and pointed them towards their victims...err playmates.

Well I don't know about you, but I can't sit around and watch a water fight...it's just not right to not participate. Lucky for some of the adults, Nana had given each kiddo 2 guns and weapons were readily available. That and Nana grabbed water bottles and cups to even the score. Trini hid in her house, Papa ran away with the camera, Shirey hid behind little Sydney and Chris did his best to avoid the people with cups. It didn't work for long, I caught and soaked him happily.

Eventually the water fight wound down and we got some dry clothes for the squids, then birthday cake time. Yummy Larson's bakery fresh strawberry cake. Mmmmmmm.

It was a good fun day. Pria loved her party and presents. She snuggled Tisi and her birthday ballons while she slept. She is looking forward to turning 5 now. Well at least she was content for one day.

Have to talk to Papa about seeing what pictures he took of the fun times.

You have to use your imagination

PG-13 For adult subjects and graphic visuals

Aah the wonderful world of doctors and my general annoyance at ever going to them. I've liked two doctors in my life, my shoulder surgeon and the one that delivered Pria. I generally don't have a great report with doc's because I'm some what of a problem patient. Things tick a bit differently with me, just because the book says I should be fixed doesn't mean it.

Well the two newest Doctors I've dealt with, are probably going to top my favorites and least liked. Dear Dr. Bair is a very nice guy and totally knows how to discuss oddities without making them "my fault" or "just in my head". Dr. Johnson on the other hand...*growls* Sunday afternoon I was taken back to discover, while turning on the downstairs stereo, that I had blood running down my legs. Very quickly I walked upstairs and washed off and told Chris in a simple voice "I need to call the doctor." Within about 15 minutes the on call doctor was supposed to be calling me back. I explained to Dr. Johnson what all had been happening and he listened and gave me the oddest suggestions. They were odd, because they weren't suggestions. All he said was repeated what I asked as statements back to me.

"You could go the emergency room, it's not the best thing"
"Should I go?"
"It's not the most ideal situation."
"What should I do then?"
"I don't know, you could go in and see them or wait til morning and call again."
"But what about now? Should I lay down? Is this something serious?"
"Yeah you could lay down, wouldn't hurt."

Now I'm not that prone to freaking out. I don't get very hysterical and I'm generally already thinking the ways it can play out before I ask anyone else. But oh that doctor made me want to scream. It was like talking to a shrink, everything was my choice but I had no clue what I should be doing in that situation.

Finally I got a hold of my mom and talked to her, I should give her my copay instead of Dr.Fruitloop over there. After a very long Sunday night bleeding off and on, Monday morning came and I called the Doc's office again. This time to be able to talk and see the doctor I wanted. After several hours and phone calls I was scheduled to see him the next morning and put on bed rest until then. Fine Dr. Johnson hadn't put my paperwork into the emergency pile (as he was supposed too) so I had to wait another day because they had no record of me talking to him.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Dr. Johnson, you are so on the bottom of the short list.

Monday was long and I did my best to make it stress free. Our neighbors (Chris and Trini) took Jordan and Pria to the zoo for the day and gave me time to just lay down. The night was spent watching Shark Week and playing KidK'nex with Pria on the couch.

Tuesday morning came and an exhausted Chris took us to the doc's. The wait wasn't too bad and once we were in the room, Dr. Bair came and saw us within about 10 minutes. We talked in his office about everything and he talked like a completely normal person. No ten dollar words, no implied intelligence or false hope. A quick and nauseating exam and he was fairly certain I had not had a miscarriage, but ordered an ultrasound to make sure I wasn't in danger of having one. Hey nice guy doc...way to plan ahead.

In the ultrasound room the tech explained to us that because I was just barely 5 weeks that seeing something was doubtful. Well, she was wrong and so was I apparently on how far along I was (I swear I got the date right this time) To the absolute delight of Pria there was a little baby she could see, and she could also see the heart beating. Now that was cool. The tech did a sound recording and sure enough that's a heartbeat in there, 103 bpm. Girls are the slower heart rates right? We couldn't remember. Pria got a picture, she was very happy to hold it and tell everyone "That's the baby." Along with the baby we could also see two blood pools, one right next to the gestational sack and one above the cervix. The baby was measured and I was put at 6 weeks at least, so my math sucks.

Dr. Bair was happy as could be that the baby was in the right spot and had a heartbeat, the chances of miscarriages drop from 50% to 20% with hearing a heartbeat. But the pools of blood slightly concerned him. He believed that the placenta had ripped away from the wall and was bleeding, so I was ordered to bed rest or sitting and taking it easy for the next week (boring) to encourage it to heal and scar over. And not to encourage anymore ripping. If it doesn't heal or tears again, the miscarriage threat becomes a more prevalent possibility. Until I get to 12 weeks, he will be watching me closely. Once I get to 12 weeks the miscarriage rate is 1% and he is fairly certain we can handle anything after that.

For now I'm back to my post surgery routine, no lifting, no running, sitting and laying as much as I can possibly stand it. Guess I'll go buy Harry Potter after all, and read it slow this time....painfully slow. Have any other ideas what to do for the next 6 weeks?
